Guide for Visitors
Before visiting
- The library may only be used for the purpose of academic study and research of the materials in the collection. Requests to use only the facilities are not accepted.
- Please use public transportation such as subways and buses to come to the library. University parking is not available.
- Available days and times are 9:00-17:00 on weekdays when the library is open.
- No letter of introduction is needed. Please bring your ID Card.
- Before visiting the health sciences library, please search the materials you want to read using the OPAC. Please make sure of the following.
- "Med Health": Represents the holdings of the Library of health sciences.
- "checked out": The book is borrowed.
- If the status of the book in the OPAC is 'in laboratory', please contact us by email in advance. Please note that some materials may not be available.
- Please fill out the form at the library counter.Please also present your ID for verification.
- Please ask at the counter when leaving the library
- Eating, drinking, smoking, and talking on cell phones are prohibited in the library.
- Only drinks in containers with closing lids are allowed in the library.
- During regular exam periods, we may ask off-campus visitors to refrain from using the library. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
- Library materials, except for master's thesis and doctoral theses, are located in the open stacks.
- After browsing library materials, please return them to where they were.
- Books are arranged in NDC (Nippon Decimal Classification) order, while journals are arranged alphabetically.
- Master's and doctoral theses are not available, except for graduates of the school of Health Sciences.
- As a rule, visitors can not borrow the materials. Visitors can order materials from the health sciences library through your organization's library or the nearest public library.
- Alumni of the Faculty of Health Sciences may borrow and use the library. →[Guide for NU Members:Borrowing]
※Please note that it is not possible to renew items online. To renew, please bring the materials to the counter before the due date. - Materials in the Library's collection may be photocopied in the Library only to the extent permitted by copyright law.
- According to the Copyright Act, the following three conditions must be met
- For personal research and study
- Part of a published work
- One copy per person
- A University Co-op copy card is required for photocopying in the library. *New copy cards are not currently being sold.
- If you do not have a copy card, you can obtain photocopies in the following ways
- Use the photocopying services of public libraries.
- Ask at the counter for a temporary loan of materials from the library. *Please return the material by 17:00 on the same day.
