Visiting and Ordering from Other Libraries

If a book or journal you want is not available in Nagoya University (your campus), you can visit other libraries or order copy of an article or book from other libraries.

When you visit libraries of other universities, you should observe the rules of the libraries.

Some libraries may require an appointment in advance or/and a letter of introduction to use their library resources. A letter of introduction is issued at the Reference/Interlibrary Loan Desk(Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.). Please apply at least one week before the date of visit.

If a book or journal you want is not available in Nagoya University (or your campus), users can order the copy of an article or the actual book.

Supplying libraries are, libraries at another campus of Nagoya University, libraries of other universities, as well as public libraries and the National Diet Library. Copies and books can also be ordered from oversea libraries, for example, libraries in U.S., Europe, or throughout the world.

The cost is paid by applicant in plinciple, but Nagoya University Library bears a part of the charge, because Nagoya University supports students and staffs needs for books and articles necessary for education, research and study.
